Guwahati Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said at a press conference that Bihu will set a world record.11,140 dancers will take part at the evevt. They will dance together. Important decisions were taken in a cabinet meeting held at Janata Bhawan in the state. Decisions were taken on enhancing youth skills in tea gardens, ‘Aapon Ghar’ scheme of state employees and land conservation services policy. As per the decision taken by the Cabinet meeting to enhance youth skills in tea gardens, Rs 750 crore has been earmarked for construction of 500 Jagannath Community Buildings and Skill Centers in tea gardens under the first phase of the ‘Mahaprabhu Jagannath Community Building Skill Centre’ scheme for the financial year 2022-23. In a phased manner the centres will be set up at designated locations in the tea garden areas of the state. The project is expected to meet the long-standing needs of the tea garden community by providing skill facilities in every tea garden as well as community centres in terms of various cultural and community needs.An amount of Rs 104.57 crore has been sanctioned to meet the interest subvention requirement for the financial year 2022-23 under the ‘Apon Ghar’ scheme of state employees. This will help state employees to get home loans. It is to be noted that 1 36,159 employees have so far availed benefits under the ‘Apon Ghar’ scheme.It has also been approved in the Assam Land Conservation Services Policy, 2023 with an aim to streamline the administration system in the Department of Land Conservation in the field of Land Conservation Services Policy. There was also a discussion on formulating policies for promotion and appointment of various officers of the department. This step will motivate employees as well as remove service related difficulties.Along with this, a number of decisions were taken regarding the plan of guinness records made by the government to introduce Bihu to the international level.
