Srinagar:An encounter broke out between militants and joint forces at Awantipora in Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir. According to army sources, one militant was killed in the encounter in the early hours of Tuesday. Two soldiers were also injured in the firing by the militants.
On the intervening night of Monday and Tuesday, the Kashmir Police tweeted about the encounter between the joint forces of the police and the army and the militants in Awantipora. Later, the Kashmir Police tweeted about the killing of a terrorist. The operation is still underway and the body of the slain militant is yet to be recovered, army sources said.
