Xi Jinping to take over as President of China for third term today

Beijing:Chinese President Xi Jinping is set to take charge again on Friday as the country’s head of state for a third term. Xi, who has led the ruling Communist Party, has become China’s longest-serving president since 1949 under communist rule in the country.

3,000 members of the country’s legislature will formally hand over the reins of him as president for another five years on Friday. The annual meeting is expected to re-appoint Zhi as chairman of the Central Military Commission. As a result, Xi will become the head of the world’s largest armed forces.
