New Delhi:Since February, the number of people infected with the viral flu has increased across the country. Patients suffering from fever, cold and cough are now at home. Although the fever has gone away, the cough, throat remains sore for more than a month. Uttar Pradesh and Karnataka have reported two deaths due to H3N2, a subtype of influenza A virus. The hospital is also crowded with patients. The ability of this virus to infect is much higher than other viruses. This virus can easily nest in the body of other people from the patient’s body through sneezing and coughing. The flu that is caused by its effect is called ‘Hong Kong Flu’. But can there be an epidemic situation in India again? Can we be under house arrest again without spending two years of Covid? What do the doctors say?
Patients are due to this H3N2 subtype of the influenza virus Most of them are admitted to the hospital. It is much more harmful than other sub-variants, the ICMR claims. Dr Dhiren Gupta said, “During covid, the children were under house arrest for two years, their immunity also decreased. Two years later, when they started coming out again, their physical condition was also becoming critical due to the attack of H3N2, the most common subtype of influenza. The number of pediatric patients in the hospital is also increasing. This subtype of the influenza virus is not life-threatening. Any virus can be life-threatening if it has comorbidities. The effectiveness of vaccination against H3N is low and the number of vaccinations has also come down this year. ’’
