326 killed in Africa in devastating cyclone

New Delhi:One of the longest cyclones in history has hit Malawi in East Africa. According to statistics, 326 people have already died due to cyclones. However, rescuers expect the number of casualties to rise further. As a result of the storm, about 1 lakh 83 thousand people have been displaced.

The cyclone has also affected Malawi’s neighboring countries. The death toll is also increasing there. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given a message to stand by Malawi in difficult times.

Malawi’s National Disaster Response Force said cyclone Freddy made landfall in south Africa’s coastal countries in late February.
