Dhaka:Sukumar Sarkar, Dhaka: A tragic accident took place in Bangladesh on Sunday morning. At least 16 people were killed when a Dhaka-bound bus fell into a ditch at Shibchar in Kutubpur area. Injured 30. Eyewitnesses believe that such a big accident has never happened on the Expressway of Padma Bridge before. The exact cause of the accident is yet to be ascertained. However, it is believed that due to excessive speed, the bus lost control and fell into the ditch.
It was learned that the bus left Sonadanga in Khulna at around 5 am on Sunday. The destination was Dhaka. But at around 7:30 am, the bus suddenly lost control. Immediately the railing broke and it fell down. So far 16 people have died in this accident. The injured were rushed to the hospital. The condition of some of them is very serious. Locals have joined hands with police and fire brigade personnel and started the rescue operation.
