New Delhi: The grim picture of human rights violations in India over the past few years has been highlighted in the recently released Annual Analytical Report on Human Rights by the US State Department. The report, published on March 20 last year, cited NCRB data to explain the ‘human rights problems and abuses’ in India.
The report claims that India has witnessed several human rights violations in 2022, including the death of accused in police custody, curtailment of press freedom, targeting religious and ethnic minorities of violence, among others. Us Secretary of State Antony Blinken’s Foreign Department has been able to give the US Congress a fair idea of the human rights situation around the world through this report.
