New Delhi:In his first press conference after being dismissed as an MP, Rahul Gandhi questioned Prime Minister Narendra Modi and industrialist Gautam Adani, who is “close to him”. He said that he was targeted for questioning the Modi-Adani relationship in Parliament. The former Congress president also questioned the “participation” of Chinese industrial companies close to Adanis in the country’s defence sector.
“Soon after Modi became the Prime Minister, I had raised questions about the photograph of Adani accompanying him on his flight. After this, various airports of the country were handed over to Adani in an illegal manner. ’’Rahul claimed that Adani’s relationship with Modi is “long-standing”. “But I don’t know where he (Adani) came from. “I am not afraid,” he said, adding that he will continue to fight for the sake of the country even if he is dismissed as an MP by using the state court’s verdict. They (BJP) did not understand that even in so many days. ’’
A Court in Surat in Gujarat on Thursday sentenced Rahul gandhi to two years in jail for his derogatory remarks against the surname ‘Modi’. On the basis of this, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla on Friday dismissed Rahul Gandhi’s mpship under Article 102(1)-E of the Indian Constitution and Article 8 of the Representation of the People Act (1951). “The Prime Minister was scared of my next speech in Parliament. That’s why it was done. ’’
