A court in Gujarat’s Navsari has slapped a fine of Rs 99 on Congress MLA Anant Patel for allegedly tearing up prime minister Narendra Modi’s photo during a student protest by entering the vice-chancellor’s chamber of the agriculture university. The court of Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate V A Dhadhal convicted Patel, mla from Vansda (ST) seat, guilty of criminal charges under Section 447 of the Indian Penal Code.
