New Delhi: The government has again extended the deadline for linking Aadhaar card with PAN card till June 30. The finance ministry said in a release on Tuesday that the deadline for linking permanent account number (PAN) with Aadhaar has been extended till June 30, 2023. Earlier, the deadline for linking Aadhaar with PAN card was March 31, 2023.
As per sub-section (2) of Section 139AA of the Income Tax Act, 1961, it is mandatory for every person. After several extensions, the government has fixed June 30, 2023, as the deadline for linking PAN cards with Aadhaar. From July 1, 2023, the PAN of those who do not connect Aadhaar-PAN will become inactive. However, the ministry also said that after paying a fee of Rs 1,000, the PAN card will be implemented again within 30 days by informing aadhaar to the designated authority.
