‘Hot air’ balloon catches fire in mid-air! Two tourists die after jumping into panic

New Delhi:A child caught fire in the gondola of a ‘hot air’ balloon in mid-air. Two tourists died in panic. The horrific incident took place in the city of Mexico. A video of the incident has surfaced. Anandabazar Online, however, did not verify the authenticity of the video.

According to local administration sources, the accident took place in Tiotihuacan, 70 kilometers from Mexico City. Tiotihuacan is a popular archaeological site. Every year a lot of tourists come to see the pyramids at this archaeological site. There was also a huge crowd of tourists on Saturday. There are also ‘hot air’ balloons to show the entire archaeological site floating in the sky.In the private initiative, tourists were shown the ‘hot air’ balloon for $ 150. On Saturday too, several tourists were visiting the archaeological site in ‘hot air’ balloons. The accident took place in one of the balloons. Eyewitnesses said a ‘hot air’ balloon’s gondola suddenly caught fire shortly after takeoff. The tourists were terrified. The balloon was then 150-200 feet high. As the fire spread rapidly in the gondola, two tourists jumped in panic. They died after falling down. That’s what the police said. Another child was rescued in a charred condition.
