Guwahati:Silk Mark Organization of India (SMOI) has been working for protecting the interest of the sericulture farmers, reelers & weavers on one hand and the consumers on the other hand, safe guarding the purity of silk in the Silk industry through the introduction of Silk Mark Labels. Over the years SMOI has evolved and spearheaded awareness of pure silk with Silk Mark. There are more than 5000 Authorised Users (AUS) of Silk Mark and over 4.0 crore Silk Mark labeled products in the market since inception.
These labels are not only a mark of purity but also instill confidence in the buyers to purchase only the silk mark labeled products while buying silk thus increasing the demand for pure silk benefiting the sericulture farmers and other stake holders involved in Silk. In order to ensure that Silk Mark gains further credibility and popularity, Silk Mark Expos are being organized exclusively involving the Silk Mark Authorized Users who are weavers, manufacturers, NGOs, prominent silk dealers and exporters. One such Expo will be organised from 08.04.2023 to 12.04.2023 (10.30 am to 8.30 pm) in NEDFi House, Ganeshguri, Guwahati-06 in the eve of Rongali Bihu. The proposed Expo will be on the line of the previous Silk Mark Expos which were huge success in terms of participation, awareness of Silk Mark, involvement of local entrepreneurs in Silk production and business. This event will be an ideal platform not only to popularise Silk Mark labels and provide valuable linkages to all the stake holders in the Silk industry, but also to encourage the local entrepreneurs in Silk.
