Why Silk Mark? The question comes to mind while purchasing a silk product. The answer is simple: it is your assurance of Pure Silk. Pure silk or Natural silk is a gift to mankind from the humble Silk Moth which has a life cycle of less than 60 days. Yet, in this time span it gives out the pristine, gorgeous, smooth & shiny Silk filament which is unparalleled in the ‘world of textiles’. This Queen of textiles – Silk is an integral part of feminine wardrobe; be it celebration of myriad festivities or social gatherings. The grace silk imparts to one’s personality when adorned as Sari or as a dress or as a designer wear is an unexplainable charm. India is the only country; that produces all the four commercially viable silk yarn namely the mesmerizing Mulberry, the tantalizing Tasar the enchantic Eri and the Magnificent Golden yellow Muga. The last three silk varieties, being indigenous to Bharat and are clubbed under the Vanya Silk or the Wild Silks of India. Connoisseurs of silk looking to buy pure silks should get what they aspire for but many a times get cheated by unscrupulous traders selling impure silk which are made up of cheaper options like Viscose Rayon, Polyester, Nylon, etc. in the name of pure silk.
