Guwahati : The first gosain uliowa mela was held in Raha on Sunday. This fair, which is associated with the memories of the historic five thousand of the Tiwas and known as the Topakusia Mela, created an atmosphere of turmoil in the area since morning.
In the morning, the gosai of Topakusi and Devaguri Namghars were washed away with service and devotion, and in the afternoon, the devotees took Gosai from Thapana and toured the city in a procession and brought him to the fair place and placed it in the makeshift thapana. After this, the naam-kirtan starts. The sound of hari is filled with the sound of the fair, and prayers are offered to God for the sake of all the well-being and world peace for the year.
