During the meeting, Modi assessed the situation in Sudan. Modi focused on the issue of safety of more than 3,000 Indian citizens in the currently struggling country. According to an official statement, Modi directed the high-level meeting to ensure the safety and security of Indian nationals in Sudan. Modi condoled the death of an Indian national who was killed in Sudan last week. The Prime Minister maintained contact with Sudan’s neighbours and asked them to plan to rescue the Indian people from Sudan.
