New Delhi:Lokayukta The Income Tax Department today conducted searches at various places in Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. During the searches, a huge quantity of gold ornaments along with cash were recovered from the house of an officer. In an operation conducted in Bengaluru by the state’s Lokayukta in poll-bound Karnataka, a huge amount of illegal properties have been seized at the house of a Bruhat Bengaluru City Corporation (BBMP) official.
Over 15 officials raided the house of BBMP official Gangadharaiah at Mahalakshmi Layout in Bengaluru. It is learnt that the searches were conducted at the house of Gangadharia, assistant director (ADTP) of BBMP’s town planning, a superintendent of police (SP), two deputy superintendents of police and an inspector. A huge amount of cash and gold jewellery were recovered from the officer’s house. Meanwhile, income tax sleuths have also raided the house of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin’s son-in-law.
