Ratan Tata honoured abroad, gets Australia’s highest honour

New Delhi: Ratan Tata has been honoured with Australia’s highest honour. The award was handed over to the legendary Indian industrialist by the government of that country. Australian Ambassador Barry O’Farrell, who is in charge of the Indian Embassy, hanged the medal around his neck.

It is learnt that this honour has been given in recognition of Ratan Tata’s contribution to india-Australia bilateral relations. The former Chairman of the Tata Group has also contributed a lot to the development of business relations between the two countries. Moreover, he has done various social service work in kangaroo country at different times.
Ambassador Barry O’Farrell shared a picture of Ratan Tata being presented with the Order of Australia (AO) medal. He said that not only in India, Ratan Tata’s work has made him respected by the people of Australia as well. Ratan Tata was awarded the Padma Bhushan by the Government of India in 2008.

However, there have been several demands for bharat ratna for him. However, the veteran industrialist himself had expressed his desire to stop his demand for Bharat Ratna. But this demand was raised again. In a letter to President Draupadi Murmu, YSR Congress MP Raghu Ramakrishna Raju had demanded bharat ratna for Ratan Tata.
