In such a situation, India’s rank is much better at present in view of progress.
The Government of India had announced the PM Gati Shakti Yojana, a national master plan for multimodal connectivity, in October 2021 to reduce logistics costs and boost the economy by 2024-25. Exactly a year later, in 2022, Pm Modi launched the National Logistics Policy (NLP) to end last mile delivery, eliminate transportation challenges and save time and money in the manufacturing sector.According to the Logistics Performance Index report, India has also gained an edge on infrastructure scores. In terms of infrastructure, India’s rank was 52 in 2018, which has now improved to 47. Apart from infrastructure, India’s ranking has also improved in international shipments. In the year 2018, India’s rank was 44, which has now improved to 22. In the ranking of logistics capacity and equality, India has also moved up four places to 48th position.
At the same time, if we talk about countries other than India, then the name of America, Russia and UK is not included in the top 10 list. According to the list, Singapore is in the first place, followed by Finland at number two, Denmark at number three, Germany at number four, Netherlands at number five, Switzerland at sixth, Austria at seventh, Belgium at eighth, Canada at ninth and Hong Kong at number ten.
