The results of the upcoming assembly elections in Karnataka will open the doors for the Congress in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, the party’s state unit chief D K Shivakumar has already said. In a recent interview with the news agency, he hoped that the Congress would win 141 seats in the 224-member assembly elections.Once the party wins, the high command will decide on who will be the chief minister. Siddaramaiah also made a similar comment in an interview last week. The 60-year-old Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president said Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman were now “upset” by the “guarantees” of the elections announced by the Congress.
