New Delhi: Karnataka Congress chief DK Shivakumar was travelling in a helicopter for the election campaign. As the helicopter took off from the airport, it collided with a bird. The windshield of the helicopter was shattered by the impact. The pilot was forced to make an emergency landing on the helicopter.
According to police sources, the helicopter took off from Jakkur around 12 noon on Tuesday. But it collided with a bird in mid-air. The incident took place at Mulbagilu near Kolar, 40 km from Hal’s airport. According to initial reports, the chopper collided with the eagle on the windshield. It takes. And that’s when a large part of the windshield on the right side of the copter broke and shattered.
Without taking a risk, the pilot contacted Hal Airport. Then he was allowed to land. Both the Congress leader and his pilot have been saved from major danger as a result of this incident.
Shivakumar, however, later left for an election rally after an event in Bengaluru. State Congress sources said Shivakumar and all the soldiers in the helicopter were safe.
