New Delhi: A film, a film that has now created controversy in different parts of the country, has finally managed to get an ‘A’ certificate. Filmmaker Sudipta Sen’s The Kerala Story, which is scheduled to release on May 5, has been given an ‘A’ certificate by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) after deducting 10 scenes.

News agency reports say that among the 10 scenes cut, an interview of a former Kerala chief minister is also there. The photograph claims that 32,000 women from the state had joined the Islamic State (IS), a terrorist organisation. According to Kerala’s CPI(M) and the Congress, the film seeks to spread the words of women being religious, being terrorists, etc. Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan had strongly criticised the makers of deobar’s film, saying that they should raise the issue of ‘love jihad’ and identify it as the centre of religious extremism in the state.
