New Delhi:This time the BJP leaders have extended their support to the wrestlers who have continued their protest alleging sexual harassment. Former Union minister Birender Singh and Haryana Power Minister Ranjit Singh Chautala recently defended the wrestlers saying that “the allegations levelled by them are serious”.
The protesting wrestlers, including Haryana residents Vinesh Phogat, Bajrang Punia and Sakshi Malik, have been demanding action against wrestler federation of India (WFI) president and BJP MP Braj Bhushan Charan Singh. They have accused Singh of sexual harassment and criminal intimidation. Senior BJP leader Birender Singh said: “There will be an impartial inquiry into the matter which will satisfy the agitating players”.
