New Delhi: The BJP, which has made an impact in the Hindi heartland, has fared a disastrous result in the Karnataka assembly elections this afternoon. So far, the BJP has won seven seats and is leading in 58 seats. Similarly, the Congress won 18 seats and was leading in 122 seats (till 2.05 pm). Janata Dal Secular is yet to win a single seat but is leading in 22 seats. Kalyan Rajya Pragati Paksha and Sarvodaya Karnataka Paksha are leading in 1 seat each. The fair exit poll released before the announcement of the results of the Karnataka Assembly elections is almost 90 per cent matched.
Now as revealed in the exit poll The Congress is on the verge of getting a single majority in the state. The exit polls said the Congress would get 103-118 seats in the 224-member Karnataka Assembly. THE BJP will be in second place and the JD(S) will again be in a kingmaker’s position.
