New Delhi: The Centre today ordered a major transfer in Karnataka where the election results were announced. in that sense Karnataka Director General of Police Praveen Sood has been appointed director of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for the next two years.
A high-level committee comprising the Prime Minister, the Chief Justice of India and the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha finalised the name of the top police officer as the new director of the CBI. Praveen Sood, a 1986 batch IPS officer of the Karnataka cadre, will take over from the current CBI chief Subodh Kumar Jaiswal.
