On Thursday, the Indian Navy issued a statement on the incident. “A Chinese fishing vessel carrying 39 sailors capsized. Of them, 17 are from Indonesia and five from the Philippines. There were also 17 Chinese sailors on board. All drowned in the South China Sea. China appealed for humanitarian assistance to rescue them. ”
