Modinagar incident: Auto driver thrashes passenger for giving Rs 2,000 note to pay fare!

New Delhi: The Rs 2,000 note seems to be a cause of panic for many now. While the Reserve Bank has taken steps to stop the circulation of Rs 2,000 notes in the market, many are now refusing to accept Rs 2,000 notes in many places.

This has also led to some unexpected incidents in many places. Recently, a passenger was beaten up by an auto driver for giving a Rs 2,000 note in Gujarat’s Modinagar. The passenger travelling in the auto gave a Rs 2000 note to the auto driver. The auto driver, who heard that rs 2,000 notes were banned, got angry over this and started beating up the passenger in a fit of rage.
