New Delhi: Many places in Ladakh are still banned for tourists. However, tourists from across the country and abroad will be able to travel to such a restricted area with a free mind. According to official sources, tourists visiting the country along with Indians will soon be able to transport their vehicles to a special point near Pangong lake in Ladakh, which did not have access to tourists earlier.

Tourists were not allowed to visit this particular place in Chang Chenmo block of eastern Ladakh earlier. The decision to visit the prohibited area to tourists will be initiated in two phases. In the first phase, tourists will be allowed to travel across the 18,314-feet-tall Mercymic La to Tosgotsalo. It is a grazing ground that is located at the confluence of two rivers, Rimdi Chu and Chang Chenmo, located 160 km east of Leh and near the Line of Actual Control.
