Air pollution is eroding the life expectancy of Indian people

New Delhi: Due to air pollution, the life span of The Indian people is deteriorating. Recent studies have proved that. Pollution poses the biggest threat to the health of The Indian people.

The University of Chicago’s Air Quality Life Index (AQLI) has expressed apprehension that the deadly pollution will reduce the life span of Indian people by five years. Delhi has become the most polluted city in the world. While the average annual PM 2.5 level is 107 micrograms per cubic metre. This figure is more than 21 times the level set by the World Health Organization. Pollution stands as the world’s biggest risk to human health. According to statistics, global air pollution has reduced the life expectancy of people by 2.2 years. This pollution has six times as high as HIV/AIDS and 89 times more than terrorism.
