New Delhi: A major accident took place on the Chennai-bound Karmandal Express from Shalimar. Several passengers were killed in the derailment on Friday evening. In a virtually unprecedented manner, three trains crashed simultaneously. But this isn’t the first time. This express had to witness one such Black Friday 14 years ago.
February 13, 2009. The accident took place at around 7.30 pm when he was passing the Jaipur Road station at a high speed. Several coaches of the Karmandal Express derailed and spread in both directions. At least 16 people were killed in the crash. Not only this, the express, which started its journey on March 6, 1977, has suffered several more disasters.
