New Delhi: A civil war is going on in Manipur. The Meitei-Kuki ethnic riots are not coming under control even after the army is deployed. Just like in Jammu and Kashmir, the soldiers are facing hurdles from a section of locals in anti-terror operations. Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday submitted a report to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the situation.
Shah held a meeting with Chief Minister Biren Singh of the hill state on Sunday after the just-concluded all-party meeting on Manipur. During the discussion, Biren submitted a detailed report to the Union Home Minister on law and order and public safety in the state. “Hon’ble Home Minister briefed on the situation in Manipur,” he wrote on his Twitter handle.
