Imphal: Schools reopen in Manipur after two months. Chief Minister Biren Singh has announced the reopening of schools from July 5. On Monday, he said that students from classes 1 to 8 will be able to go to school from The 5th. Schools in Manipur have been closed since May due to unrest.
Addressing a press conference on Monday, Biren announced the reopening of schools from Wednesday. However, attempts were made to open schools in Manipur in the past. Despite the administration announcing the reopening date, the students could not go to school on the scheduled day. When the situation became heated, the day had to be postponed.
However, Biren said on Monday that the situation in the state is now under control. Additional security personnel have been deployed to protect farmers in the Meitei and Kuki communities. Normal life is returning to normal in the hills and valley areas.
