New Delhi: For the first time, an IIT campus will be set up outside the country. IIT Madras authorities are set to open a campus in the African country of Tanzania. The Ministry of External Affairs made the big announcement on Thursday. This event is seen as a pioneer of Indian education in the world.
The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has said that a new campus of the Indian Institute of Technology is being opened in Zanzibar, a semi-autonomous region of Tanzania. External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, who is on a visit to Tanzania on Wednesday.
