Imphal: The situation in disturbed Manipur continues to heat up even today. Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh has announced that all bunkers built by Meitei and Kukis will be demolished for security in the villages of the state. As a result, many have also questioned how this would be possible at a time when the violence from both the groups continued.
Not many in Manipur have even agreed to surrender their guns with them. Kuki groups have rejected the chief minister’s announcement saying bunkers are essential to keep their villages safe. Meitei groups have supported the idea of the chief minister. But they have also said that the government has to ensure the safety of their villages.
