New Delhi: A fire broke out in a coach of Vande Bharat Express. The train was on its way to Delhi from Bhopal on Monday morning. Suddenly, one of the coaches of the train caught fire. Firefighters rushed to the spot. The passengers of the coach were evacuated safely. At the time of filing this report, there have been no reports of casualties. The incident took place in Madhya Pradesh’s Kurwai Kethora area on Monday morning.
According to railway sources, the first fire was seen in the battery box. After the fire broke out, the Railways said in a statement that the battery box under the Vande Bharat Express caught fire. Fire department personnel have reached the spot and the fire Extinguished. The battery box caught fire, but there is confusion about how the fire broke out there. According to railway sources, an investigation is underway. Meanwhile, a video of the coach catching fire has gone viral on social media.
According to railway sources, along with fire brigade personnel, local people have also joined hands to douse the fire. The Bhopal-Delhi-bound Vande Bharat train is expected to cover a distance of 701 km in seven-and-a-half hours, railway sources said. The train left Rani Kamalapati station in Bhopal in Madhya Pradesh and reached Hazrat Nizamuddin station in Delhi.
