New Delhi: One person died in hospital. His wife and four daughters were returning home with the body in an ambulance. But midway, a car hit the ambulance. The ambulance broke into two pieces due to the impact. The woman and her three daughters died in the accident. The incident took place in Uttar Pradesh’s Unnao in the wee hours of Friday.
According to police, the family was returning to Moraba from Kanpur. The ambulance was hit by a car near Tusraur village under Purba police station and fled. The impact of the shock was so great that the front of the ambulance was twisted and split in two from the middle. Four passengers of the ambulance died on the spot. However, the driver survived. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed grief over the incident.
Police said one Dhaniram was admitted to a private hospital in Kanpur. He died on Thursday night. Dhaniram’s wife and four daughters had gone to bring his body. Dhaniram’s wife Prema (70), three daughters Manjula (45), Anjali (40) and Ruchi (30) were killed in the accident. Another daughter, Sudha, has been admitted to the hospital.
