New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hoist the tricolour next year as well, but that is at his home. Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge said this in response to Modi’s Independence Day speech at the Red Fort. The Rajya Sabha MP was not present at the Independence Day function. His party said there were so many restrictions in Delhi to provide security to Modi that it would have taken a long time to reach the venue. That is why Kharge could not join.
“I will come before you again on Independence Day next year,” Modi said from the Red Fort. And I’ll give you an account of what we’ve done over the course of a year. In other words, the Prime Minister gave a befitting reply to the opposition by taking the slogan raised by the opposition alliance – ‘Modi’s last speech at the Red Fort this year’, as a challenge. At the end of his speech, Kharge was asked about Modi’s remarks. “He will hoist the national flag next year as well,” the Congress president said. But do it at your residence. In other words, Narendra Modi will no longer be able to hoist the flag at the Red Fort as prime minister,” the Congress president said. In the same vein, MP KC Venugopal said that people will decide who will return to power in 2024. Until then, we’ll wait.
Mallikarjun Kharge was not present at the Independence Day function. That also led to a heated debate. The Congress, however, said that there was a lot of security restrictions in Delhi regarding the prime minister’s security. It took at least two hours to reach the venue. But the Congress MP could not reach the Red Fort on time by hoisting the flag at the party office.
