New Delhi: A major accident took place in Uttar Kashi in Uttarakhand. At least seven people were killed when a bus fell into a deep gorge near a mountain road. Twenty-seven passengers were injured. Several passengers are still trapped inside the bus. Police and National Disaster Response Force have reached the spot. Rescue operations are underway in wartime operations. Authorities fear the death toll could rise.
According to the administration, the bus was going from Gangotri to Uttarkashi with 35 passengers. All the passengers are said to be pilgrims from Gujarat. The bus fell into a deep gorge around 4 pm on Sunday. Seven people died on the spot. Police and National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) rushed to the spot. So far, 27 injured people have been rescued. They have been admitted to a nearby hospital.
