The two-day workshop of journalists under the initiative of DB Media Entertainment Institute concluded
Guwahati:A two-day workshop on journalism was held on Saturday and Sunday at the in Bamunimaidan under the initiative of DB Media Entertainment Institute, which was formed under the aegis of Dainandin Barta Group. Prasanta Jyoti Baruah, Executive Editor, The Assam Tribune, was present as the content person at the workshop which began on the morning of the first day.
Participating in the workshop, the senior journalist commented on the principles, applications and realism of the media, and added that it should be the responsibility of a journalist to acquire knowledge about every issue and present them properly.
He also said that a lot of study is needed to bring complaints to the notice of the government. Because, healthy journalism is never possible without study. Many experienced senior journalists as well as advocates were present at the event which was moderated by Senior Journalist of Pratidin Time, Pranjit Neog, and offered extensive lessons on the quality of the media. Senior journalist Naba Thakuria said that journalists should follow the path of truthful journalism while teaching about the possibilities, its future and challenges of the new media. It is not the duty of a real journalist to present news without verifying facts. Nabajyoti Kalita, managing editor of DB News, the digital version of the Dainandin Barta, said about the new media, with the advancement of information technology, journalism is moving forward in a new form. By teaching the trainees in an audio-visual manner, they were provided feedback on several important issues and also answered various questions of the trainees who are being trained. After this, the executive editor of the Dainandin Barta, Dimpul Chutia gave a talk about how the journalists of township and village areas gather news, overcoming several problems .He also talked about how a video news with a video camera, mobile camera can be prepared Finally Speaking at the closing ceremony of the workshop, Shankar Gohain, the managing director of the Dainandin Barta group , gave feedback on how journalists can be benefited from the workshop and what measures should be taken to keep a news group alive. It may be recalled that several journalists from different parts of Assam participated in the two-day workshop and contributed to the successful completion of the event. One certificate each is given to the correspondents who attended the workshop . The certificate was distributed by Bhupendra Nath Bhattacharya, editor of The Assam Rising, an English daily published by the Dainandin Barta group.By participating in the workshop, the mediapersons are of the view that they have been able to acquire a lot of innovative knowledge.
