Guwahati:The full working committee of the Assam Athletics Association was announced today, subject to the approval of Assam Athletics Association president and Assam government cabinet minister Jayant Malla Barua.
These societies include: Technical committee , planning and training committee , selection committee , media committee , disciplinary committee , medical and age assessment committee , grievance and prevention committee , women’s associations, finance committee , Examination committee: As many as 14 committees, including the Sports Management Committee, The Communication and Management Committee, the Committee to Take Action Against Sexual Harassment, social media committees, etc. were announced. Sharif Ullah as chairman of the technical committee, joint conveners Dr. Diganta Saikia and Kalyan Barman; Govind Malakar, chairman of the Planning and Training Committee, and Uttam Handique, convener; Selection Committee Chairman Ranjan Kakati and Convener Nisar Alam, Media Committee Chairman Sanjeev Phukan and Convener Gautam Sharma: Chairman of Disciplinary Committee Pradip Das and Convener Dr Bhaben Mohan Medical committee Chairman Dr. Achyut Baishya and Joint Convener Dr. Dipankar Bhattacharya and Dr. Kavita Majumdar; Pradeep Nunisa, chairman of the Grievance and Redressal Committee, and joint conveners Gaurishankar Roy and Buddheshwar Swargiyari; Women’s Committee Chairperson Tabu Nessa and Convener Deepti Nath; Bijuli Kalita Medhi, chairperson and convener of the committee taking action against sexual harassment, Lucky Gogoi Finance Committee Chairman Manoj Kumar Chowdhury and Convener Bapan Kalita; Bitupan Doley, chairman of the examination committee, and joint conveners Bhupen Chowdhury and Gaurishankar Roy; The chairman of the sports management committee, Abdul Walid, and the convener H. B. Singh; Kalyan Basumatary, chairman of the Communications and Management Committee, and Manikanchan Buragohain, convener; A total of 154-member committees were announced along with social media committee chairman Yudhishthir Gogoi and convener Bhaskar Vikram Chetia along with members/members of each committee. The committee consists of around 30 national and international ex-sportspersons, 45 persons with technical experience and athletics coaches, physical coaches, eminent journalists, eminent doctors, former officials of the sports department and sports organisers. The first full-fledged executive meeting is scheduled to be held on October 6.The selection process will be held from October 17 to 19 at the 34th East Zone Athletics Championships to be held at the Central Stadium in Kolkata. In view of this, the selection camp of the Assam team will be held on October 7 and 8 at the Sarusajai Stadium in Guwahati. Children under the age of 14, 15, 18, and 20 years can participate in this selection camp. This was stated by Gitarth Goswami, General Secretary of the Association, in a statement .
