Manipur resumes internet services after 100 days

Imphal: Manipur has been in the grip of caste riots for the last five months. There are reports of clashes from the state almost every day. Blood is spilling. Chief Minister N Biren Singh has ordered the restoration of internet services after 100 days.

Addressing a press conference on Saturday, the Manipuri Chief Minister said, “All Manipuris are being informed that internet services were suspended in the state to avoid untoward incidents. Net services for all have been restored from today. On May 3, the Metei-Kuki caste clash broke out in the northeastern state. Since then, the internet has been shut down to prevent the spread of fake news and incitement to violence.
