New Delhi: A married woman cannot accuse her live-in partner of rape on the promise of marriage. The delhi high court passed the order in response to a case. The court was of the view that an adult woman married to another person cannot claim legal protection in such a case.
In case of rape allegations promising marriage, the complainant has to be ‘single’. In other words, the person who is in the place of marrying someone has the right to accuse him of rape on the promise of marriage.
