Research Collaboration Agreement Signed By Assam Engineering College (AEC) With BItChem Asphalt Tecnologies

Guwahati:In a significant development aimed at fostering collaboration and cooperation, M/s BitChem Asphalt Technologies Limited is pleased to announce the signing of Research Collaboration Agreement with Assam Engineering College (AEC) with the Civil Engineering Department as the nodal department from AEC. The collaboration agreement was signed by Mr Rajeev Agarwal, CEO, Bitchem Asphalt Technologies Limited and Dr. Kalyan Kalita, Principal, Assam Engineering College. Mr. Sarat Kumar Jain, Chairman, Bitchem Asphalt Technologies Limited was also present on the occasion and called the Research Collaboration signing ceremony a momentous occasion, signifying the beginning of a new chapter in the relationship between M/s BitChem Asphalt Technologies Limited and Assam Engineering College (AEC). Dr. Jayanta Pathak, Professor & Head of the Department, present along with all the faculty members of the department, welcomed the initiative taken by BATL and gave commitment of the department for an outcome based research. BitChem is a road technology company in Bharat with Global Aspirations, which is India’s 1st Technology Development Board, Department of Science & Technology, Government of India funded venture in road sector.

BitChem is a BIS Licence Certified Company and has been granted Patent Certificate for their Green Invention of “TAILOR MADE COLD BINDER” and promotes green roads philosophy and encourages the usage of cold mix road paving technology for reducing carbon emissions, eradicating occupational hazards to workers and engages in environment-friendly construction practices yet provides durable and lasting road surface. BitChem has been granted Central Level Approval for Bitumen Emulsions by National highways Authority of India (NHAI) for use in all its ongoing and upcoming projects nationwide. BitChem is one of the many Business Verticals of SM Group, which is a well-diversified business house headquartered in Guwahati with revenues exceeding Rs. 1,000 Crores supported by 500+ strong workforce and stand committed to excellence in quality products and associated services. Under the agreement AEC and BitChem have agreed to set up a Centre of Excellence in the field of Green Roads Philosophy in the roads sector and usage of road paving technologies with Bitchem branding at AEC Campus. Assam Engineering College has a goal of promoting distinctive research programs and strengthening the Institute’s research base and support infrastructure by engaging with partners from all sectors of the economy. AEC is engaged in promoting sustainable nnovation & invention and also supports in developing projects those are sustainable, dynamic, flexible and holistically designed to facilitate creativity and cognitive thinking. AEC will provide the space and time from the concerned faculty members while BitChem will provide the resources, technical know-how and personnel from BitChem to participate in the R&D and innovation work. The collaboration will work towards undertaking Research and Development (R&D) projects related to Green Road Technology at the industry supported laboratory to be set up in AEC under this agreement. The collaboration will also facilitate to organize Continuous Professional Development (CPD) workshops for in-service engineers/technicians as continuing education skill development opportunity jointly by BitChem & AEC. BitChem will facilitate student internship and recruitment of graduate students from AEC as per availability, requirements and policies of BitChem.
