CMs Of Meghalaya And Assam Meet To Resolve Border Disputes

Guwahati:Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and his Meghalaya counterpart Conrad Sangma met in Guwahati on Saturday evening to discuss the resolution of border disputes between the two states in six remaining areas.In the meeting few key decisions were taken today.

Those are-Border dispute in 5-6 border areas of Assam-Meghalaya border on the way to resolve, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) will be signed soon between the two states with the Union Home Ministry, Police of two states to move away from border,Proposal to give CRPF the responsibility for border security,Chief Ministers of two states will visit border areas soon after Durga Puja.On the other hand, the decision to hand over the investigation of the Mukhro firing incident to the CBI also taken in the meeting.It is also decided that the case will not be registered in Guwahati or Shillong, but at a neutral place.Resolving problem at 3 areas Lampi, Borduar, Deshdoomaria are on the way.The two Chief Ministers will visit the remaining three areas soon.
