Guwahati: The 39th foundation day of the Asom Gana Parishad (AGP), the largest regional political party of Assam, which was born on October 14, 1985, in the backdrop of the historic Assam Movement and in exchange for the undying love and sacrifice of the people of Assam, will be held centrally at the Samanyay ground of Golaghat, the birthplace of the party .
Similarly, all the district headquarters and assembly constituencies of the state will celebrate the foundation day with various programme.In the social and political life of Assam, the Asom Gana Parishad party has been serving the interest of the people of Assam with the aim of fulfilling its responsibility on the basis of regionalism. The Asom Gana Parishad( AGP), which has been in power in the state twice, is now one of the partners in the BJP coalition government. The party has played an important role in the state politics as well as pan-Indian politics at different times. The Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) government played an important role in building the economic structure of the state as well as taking the state forward in various aspects of development.Social, political, economic and cultural aspects, the journey of development of the state started during the government of the Asom Gana Parishad. The party has played an important role in inculcating honesty among people of all castes and creeds. Party president and Minister Atul Bora, working president and Minister Keshab Mahanta, senior leader Phani Bhusan Chowdhury and other top leaders of the party will be present at the central foundation day function in Golaghat. Similarly, the foundation day will be celebrated across the state with a day-long programme at the initiative of district committees and assembly constituency committees.
