Eminent social activist Ramendra Narayan Chowdhury passes away

Guwahati, Oct 17 :Eminent businessman and social worker Ramendra Narayan Choudhury, a resident of Guwahati, Santipur Hillside, passed away on 17 October morning. He was the eldest son of late Kaliram Chowdhury, the founder president of the Asom Jatiyatabadi Dal, and social worker late Charubala Choudhury. He was closely involved in various development works in the greater Santipur region.He was the founder Chief Advisor of East Santipur GS Colony Water Supply Committee , Founder President of East Santipur Development Committee, Advisor of Shantipur Urban Development Committee.

Born in Santipur on January 1, 1949, Chowdhury shouldered the responsibility of the large family ahter his father’s sudden demise due to accidental reasons . He had completed graduation from Arya Vidyapeeth College. He was also responsible for the social responsibilities of the large area, for which he was respected by the common residents as a kind of guardian of the area. Chaudhary, who has been suffering from physical illness for the past few days, finally succumbed to the will of destiny . The late Chowdhury was also associated with the Assam Senior Citizens’ Association. He was survived by his wife Pavitra Chowdhury, engineer son Rajnish Chaudhary and daughter Dr Pompey Chowdhury, along with grand children and several siblings.
