New Delhi: The Lok Sabha Ethics Committee is hearing a question instead of money. Bjp MP Vinod Sonakar has been accused of asking unethical, personal and indecent questions to Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra. All opposition members of the committee, including Mahua, staged a walkout in protest.
Mahua appeared before the ethics committee this morning after the debate on questions instead of money. Of the 11 members of the committee, five belong to the opposition camp. Six are from the BJP. While there are no TMC MPs in the opposition, two are from the Congress and one from the JD(U). There is one CPI MP and one BSP MP. According to sources, opposition MPs stood by Mahua during the meeting. As expected, BJP MPs tried to suppress him, sources said.
Bjp MPs, including committee chairman Vinod Sonakar, allegedly asked controversial questions to put pressure on Mahua. As a result, all opposition MPs, including Mahua, staged a walkout in anger. Even when they came out, opposition MPs were seen shouting in anger. Mahua himself screamed and got angry. Opposition MPs alleged that it was the head of the ethics committee that asked Mahua an unethical and indecent question.
