Odd-even vehicle rules return, all schools closed, several decisions taken to curb pollution in Delhi

New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has called a high-level emergency meeting on Monday afternoon to check the pollution levels in the national capital. At the meeting, it was decided to restore the restrictions on odd number-plate vehicles. However, it will come into effect after Diwali.

Delhi Environment Minister Gopal Rai also announced the decision to close all schools from this week.After a meeting chaired by Kejriwal on Monday, Rai said all schools will remain closed on November 10 due to the pollution situation. Only class 10 and 12 due to board exams .Classes will be held in schools. Earlier, it was decided to close schools till Class V keeping in mind the health of the students. On the other hand, the rules of odd number-plate cars are being restored. The Delhi government claims that reducing the number of vehicles on the roads will reduce pollution to a great extent. The restrictions will come into effect from November 13-20 on Diwali. Depending on the situation, the duration of these restrictions may also be extended.
