New Delhi: Around three quarters of eligible voters in Chhattisgarh and Mizoram have voted on Tuesday (November 7), election commission figures said at 7 pm.The poll body recorded an approximate voter turnout trend of 71.11% for twenty of Chhattisgarh’s ninety assembly constituencies that went to the polls today.
Mizoram recorded an approximate voter turnout trend of 77.32%.In Chhattisgarh, Bhanupratappur constituency has so far recorded the highest turnout trend of 79.10%.Bijapur constituency recorded the lowest turnout trend in the state at 40.98%, but the election commission noted that data from some polling stations may take time to reflect.Clashes between Maoist insurgents and security forces occurred in the state today.Four security personnel were injured in the clashes and cited police as saying that five or six Maoists died.Earlier today, a security officer was injured after stepping on an explosive planted by Maoists.
