Guwahati:An important meeting of the state cabinet chaired by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma was held at Janata Bhawan today. At the end of the meeting, Minister Jayanta Malla Barua disclosed to the media about the decisions taken in the cabinet meeting. The minister said it has been decided to increase the dearness allowance of government employees to 4 per cent. This will be available from December 1, 2023. The minister said that the DA has been increased at par with the Central Government.
He also says that Char Chapri’s school will also get eggs three days a week for mid-day meals. He also said that land pattas will be given to 2,538 landless people in five districts through Vasundhara II.The release of Rs 135 crore has been approved for the purchase of equipment including various medicines in government hospitals in the tea garden area. An amount of Rs 135 crore has been sanctioned for the construction of three cancer hospitals and seven hospitals in the state.The money was released under the Assam Cancer Care Foundation. Kumar Bhaskar Varma Sanskrit University was also approved by the Assam cabinet today.
