Workers still stranded at Silkiara tunnel: attempt going on to rescue the labourers trapped inside
New Delhi:The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) is yet to rescue 40 workers who were stranded after a 4.531-km-long two-lane tunnel collapsed in Silkiara to connect Gangotri and Yamunotri ghats under the Ready Pass area as part of the Chardham highway project in Uttarakhand.
A pipe of 900mm has been brought from Haridwar to rescue the labourers. Efforts are on to rescue the workers with that pipe.
